Great success in the pool by three MCK students who represented Sydney Catholic Schools at the NSWCCC Swimming/Diving Championships last Thursday. Congratulations to Samuel and Matis (Swimmers) and Dominic (Diver) who all performed extremely well on the day achieving the following results:

U15 Boys 50M Butterfly - 2nd
U15 Boys 100M Backstroke - 2nd
U15 Boys 100M Freestyle - 1st
U15 Boys 50M Backstroke - 3rd

Matias
OPENS Boys 200IM - 2nd

Dominic
Opens Boys Platform - 3rd
U14/15 Boys Springboard - 2nd

Samuel and Matias competed at the All Schools Swimming Carnival this week, while Dominic will be competing at the All Schools Diving competition in May.

It’s Amadeus day! Every Wednesday Year 7 participate in the Sydney Catholic Schools Amadeus Program where they learn an orchestral instrument. Last week they had their first sessions in their small tuition groups. Today they will be having their ensemble sessions.

Year 12 Biology visited Taronga Zoo and their Institute of Science and Learning today. They investigated reproductive adaptations of species residing at the zoo and how zoo keepers use genetic techniques in conservation efforts.
The boys were able to view data used by the zoo in the reproduction of animals at Taronga and analysed this data to see how the techniques used at the zoo influence genetic change in species.
